Hi there!! My name is Summer, @flylikesummer, and I am a flight attendant for Delta Air Lines.

I have been flying for 4 years and regularly spend my days off traveling around the world. I particularly love exotic locations with warm weather and scenic beaches.

I became addicted to traveling after summers abroad, though, and decided to apply for a job as a flight attendant. I accepted the job offer and have been to 30 countries and on countless flights since!

As a junior flight attendant, I know how daunting and expensive traveling can be. I love helping others plan trips and find affordable options!

You can book the same deal at airline and travel industry rates I did from the link at the bottom of this blog or by clicking here.

My boyfriend and I vacationed in beautiful and breezy Curaçao in June 2019 for 3 nights at the Acoya Hotel, Suites & Villas Resort near the capital Willemstad.

Curaçao

We chose to stay at the Acoya Hotel, Suites & Villas Resort because of its all inclusive package, convenience to town, and unbelievable pricing.

We flew Delta Air Lines from Atlanta to Aruba and connected on to Curaçao with Air Aruba. It was $200 round trip and a 20 minute flight. American Airlines also operates direct flights from Miami.  After landing and clearing customs, we grabbed our rental car and hit the road.

The best way to see Curaçao is by car because the beaches are spread apart.

It was quick and easy securing the car and only cost $150 for 3 days. Taxis are easily accessible on the island, however they can be expensive.

Acoya Hotel & Suites & Villas

Driving to the resort only takes 20 minutes, and it is tucked away outside of town, only 5 minutes from the most famous beach in Curacao. We were greeted with a long driveway and security guard monitoring the entrance. Although Curaçao is a safe island, I definitely felt more at ease knowing the resort was guarded.

As we drove in, we noticed the beautiful white buildings and villas with red Mediteranian tiled roofs.

We parked near the lobby and had no issues parking or checking in. The staff was friendly and helped us find our way to our room. We were thrilled with the free wifi and onsite laundry facility. If needed, Acoya offers a kids club and babysitting for approximately $10 per hour. We opted for the all-inclusive package, which includes meals and drinks. Before we enjoyed the perks of the resort, we hurried to our room to stow our luggage and relax.

Acoya is a village of luxury in the heart of Curacao.

Extra FREE $ Credit!

Booking with STV you also get with minimum 3 night stays up to $1000 in Free Resort Coupons that you can enjoy combined with our new All-inclusive program. Mambo Beach

On our first full day in Curaçao, my boyfriend and I lounged by the Acoya pool and then took the shuttle to the island’s most popular and internationally-recognized Mambo BLVD and Madero Ocean Club!

Ranked as one of the best getaway beaches in the Caribbean, Madero Ocean Club is exactly what you picture when you think about a beach getaway!

When you stay at Acoya, you will receive free daily access to the beach and boulevard.

The Beach Bed is even reserved ahead of time, so you can arrive and relax. This was very lucky, as the beach was filled with tourists. Several shops and restaurants were within walking distance, and a dj was set up playing house music. After a full day in the sun, we found a relaxing beach bar and watched the sunset. We took a taxi back to our resort, and it cost $15 one way.

Beach excursion
Instead of booking a tour on our last day, we decided to drive our rental car around the island. Mambo Beach was crowded and lively, so we wanted to find more remote beaches.

Our first stop was to Kokomo Beach. It was beautiful but unfortunately just finishing construction, so we decided to take a picture on a beautiful overwater swing and drive on.  We drove north towards Westpunt and stopped at Cas About. It was even more beautiful and picturesque, so we decided to lay out and swim for a few hours. The white sand and turquoise water of this beach is really something special!

Unfortunately we were short on time, but other beautiful beaches we wanted to check out were Porto Marie, Jan Thiel, Playa Grandi, and Playa Lagoon. At Playa Grandi and Playa Lagoon, it is free to swim around and easy to spot sea turtles!

Willemstad
After a full day at the beach, we hurried back to the resort to get ready for sunset and dinner in town. The main town of Willemstad is a UNESCO World Heritage site and not to be missed! It is made up of four districts- Punda, Pietermaai, Otrobanda, and Scharloo. We watched the sunset on the Queen Emma Bridge, a floating bridge, and walked around Punda.

There are over 40 beaches on Curaçao, and many have white sand and turquoise waters.

Summary

The Acoya Resort provided a relaxing oasis during our short but busy 3 days in Curaçao. It is family friendly and accommodates groups of any size. I loved the location and size of our apartment and balcony.

The staff was friendly and attended to all of our needs. The price was incredible for the value, and we loved saving money with the all inclusive package.

The location was very convenient, within minutes of all of the amazing beaches, dining, nightlife, and activities the area has to offer

My only regret was not spending more time at this resort and island.

I cannot wait to come back to Curaçao to plan more beach hopping and activities, while relaxing at Acoya.

Thanks Curaçao, hope to see you again soon!
