Hello! I’m Shandhika, a flight attendant with Qantas Link. I am very well traveled and especially like off the beaten track vacations! On my last extravaganza I took my Mother as a surprise 70th birthday present and off we went to Thailand & Bali, both destinations on my bucket list.

I finally got a chance to experience these wonderful countries staying at some truly amazing and astounding places. We decided to start at Bangkok, then on to Phuket and then Bali. Staying longer as we got closer to Home (Australia)

Read about my latest trip to Thailand & Bali below!

Bali's home Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world comprising 13,466 large and small tropical islands fringed with white sandy beaches, many still uninhabited.

Bali's reputation as a tourist destination is already well-established. Renowned as a beautiful island with mountains, temples, palaces and terraced rice fields, Bali is known as a place where traditions of art and culture predominate. This is particularly true in Ubud, the cultural and artistic heart of the island. It is also a place where the ultimate luxuries of life prevail: fine dining, spas and massage have reached the peak of perfection. Modern sports such as diving, sailing, rafting and above all surfing have taken hold and are enjoyed by thousands of visitors who flock here every year from all areas of the globe.

How to get there!

OK, so in our case we started and finished our vacation in Sydney. You will know your best routing, but there are no non-stop flights from Phuket to Bali, so in our case instead of returning to Bangkok or flying via Kuala Lumpur or Jakarta we opted to route into Bali via Singapore. Very simple. Click on my funky route map below to enlarge view!
