Hi, I am Julie! An American Airlines Flight Attendant

I just got back from a fab family holiday in Thailand.

My husband Ben and our 3 teenage children joined me on an awesome adventure that took us to Krabi, Phuket and Phi Phi island.

We stayed in a range of gorgeous hotels, each with its own unique vibe: from boutique hotels to fun family resorts. This was a wonderful holiday with something for kids and adults alike.

We returned home feeling refreshed and tanned after enjoying the gorgeous beaches, delicious food and quality time together in paradise.

Nothing beats family fun in the sun!

Pristine beaches. Cocktails at sunset.
Sparkling pools. Jealous already?

Cha Da Thai Village Resort ~ Krabi

March 22-24

After a very long journey we finally arrived! A refreshing cold towel and a delicious drink welcomed us to paradise. What a treat!

The Cha Da Thai Village Resort is absolutely gorgeous. It is set in the jungle and just up the hill from all the action. You can also walk to 2 beautiful beaches: Ao Nang and Noppharat.

If you are adventurous you can try some rock climbing - get that adrenaline pumping!

You can book the same hotels I did at the bottom of this blog

Enjoy fun water slides for the kids and the young at heart!

Breakfast was delicious, with plenty to chose from, including traditional Thai dishes and western treats.

Cha Da Thai Village Resort ~ Krabi
In a nutshell:

This is a great family resort with plenty to keep adults and kids entertained. It is a quiet retreat but just a few minutes from it all.

Insider tip:

I highly recommend a boat trip from Raley beach to explore the gorgeous surroundings. It will cost only about 100 baht a person. A real bargain!

The Small Krabi

March 24-26

We were greeted with a very warm welcome from this small resort in the middle of it all.

This charming hotel is very close to Ao Nang and Noppharatthara beaches. It has 2 gorgeous swimming pools: one is on the ground level and the other is an impressive roof top pool boasting amazing views over Krabi. Wow!

The rooms are modern and comfortable, and come with all the facilities to make yourself at home.

This small boutique hotel is a true oasis amongst the action.

You are welcome to head to their sister hotel Krabi La Playa to eat breakfast and use their facilities. There are excellent restaurants and plenty to do nearby. You will not get bored in Krabi!

Bring a book and chill at the roof-top swimming pool with epic panoramic views

I would recommend you to splurge and book a pool access room. We had one with a private jacuzzi and it was just perfect: head from your bed into the swimming pool in just a couple of steps! Totally worth the extra dollars.

Phi Phi Island Village Resort

March 26-28

WOW. This is what I thought when I arrived at the Phi Phi Island Village Resort.

A picture is worth a thousand words, so this will make you understand why:

We were greeted with a delicious tropical drink, and then we headed into our home for the next couple of nights. We had 2 spacious bungalows in a gorgeous and quiet setting.

Pineapple cocktail + stunning island views = total bliss

The resort is by a gorgeous beach, and has 2 beautiful ocean view swimming pools, 2 restaurants, and a snack bar. A long boat tour around the island is a must-do, and can be easily arranged.

There is a small village with a chilled beach vibe just behind the resort. Enjoy some yummy local dishes and finish off a day in paradise with a nightcap at one of the bars.

Patong Merlin Hotel ~ Phuket

March 28-30 and April 1-3

This resort is a quiet oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of Patong.

We stayed in one of the brand new Family Suites with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a living room. What a treat! It was modern and comfortable and with plenty of space to stretch out!

The 2-bedroom suite is an ideal choice for families

Our room faced the pool and tropical garden, providing quiet and charming surroundings. Sometimes we would forget we were in the middle of happening Patong!

The resort has 4 pools and plenty of activities to keep you busy, including a must-do Thai cooking class. Yummy!

Make sure you check out the spa for a tradtional Thai massage.

There is a kids club to keep the younger members of the family happy, and right across the street is Patong beach where you can go jet skiing, parasailing or try other water sports.

The last stop in our trip was this gorgeous resort in a quiet part of Phuket. We had 2 beautiful, adjoining villas with vaulted ceilings.

The highlight the luxurious outdoor shower - what a treat!

The view from the pool is amazing, and when the sun goes down you can try some yummy dishes at one of the restaurants. They also offer free shuttles to Phuket town and the nearby Nai harn beach.

Make the most of the free shuttle and shop in town

There are plenty of activities on offer to keep you busy: you can try one of the organised beach or botanical walks, or join a tour of the island. If you just want to chill, head to the infinity pool and take in the view!
