Essentia Swim-Out Room
Essentia Swim-Out rooms offer access to the swimming pool. In addition to upgrades such as a VIP welcome cocktail, personalized check-in and check-out. These rooms offer guests staying a minimum of four nights a tour of the colonial city (Subject to availability) of Santo Domingo and a 30-minute couples massage. Children are not allowed.

Essentia Garden View Room
The Essentia Garden View Room offers a tranquil retreat with picturesque views of lush greenery, providing a peaceful and rejuvenating atmosphere for your stay. These rooms offer guests staying a minimum of four nights a tour of the colonial city (Subject to availability) of Santo Domingo and a 30-minute couple's massage.

Essentia Ocean View Room
These Essentia rooms are located in front of the beach and offer access to the swimming pool. In addition to upgrades such as a VIP welcome cocktail, personalized check-in and check-out, and nightly service, these rooms offer guests staying a minimum of four nights a tour of the colonial city (Subject to availability) of Santo Domingo. and a 30-minute couples massage.

Adults Only Superior Room
Rooms in the adults-only areas include access to pool and Jacuzzie areas, and a complimentary 15-minute massage for stays over 4 nights. Luxurious in-room amenities include tea and coffee making facilities, a TV and minibar witih daily refill.

Superior Room
Available with either a King Bed or 2 Double Beds, these Superior Rooms are just steps from the beach, and are surrounded by expansive, beautifully landscaped gardens which you can take in from the private balcony.

Deluxe Family Room
Designed for families or groups of up to five, the Deluxe Family Rooms are surrounded by beautiful gardens. The innovatively designed bathrooms allow several people to use it privately at the same time.

Swim-Out Room
Fully equipped with luxurious amenities, you'll find the Swim-Out Rooms with two Queen beds, a beautiful view and private outdoor terrace. Adults Only Section (+18). Children are not allowed.

Things To Do

Barceló Rum Historical Center
Opened in 2012, the Barceló Rum Historical Center offers a comprehensive museum display on the history of rum making in the country, its role in the culture, and Barceló’s manufacturing process. 

Cueva de las Maravillas
Located between San Pedro de Macorís and La Romana, this enormous cave system houses hundreds of well-preserved Taino pictographs and petroglyphs dating back thousands of years.

Dominican Winter Professional Baseball League
From mid-October to the end of January it’s baseball time in the Dominican Republic. During this season there will be games with the best of the Dominican Winter Professional Baseball League playing 15 minutes away from Juan Dolio.

Playa Juan Dolio
Blessed with both waves and calmer areas, the beach lines Juan Dolio’s main road–Calle Principal–and is punctuated with seafront bars, restaurants, condominiums, and villas.

Playa Guayacanes
The small fishing village of Guayacanes boasts a scenic white sand beach, home to just a couple of restaurants and homes.

Alto Velo Wreck
A small tugboat, the Alto Velo sunk off the waters of Playa Caribe on the southeastern coast. Resting at eight meters (26 feet), an ideal depth for beginners, it quickly turned into an artificial reef surrounded with abundant marine life.

Los Marlins Golf Course
Located at the Metro Country Club in Juan Dolio–just 30 minutes’ drive east of Santo Domingo’s international airport–the 18-hole course features numerous artistic bunkers, and lakes and mounds that perfectly complement the surrounding beauty of the Caribbean Sea. 

Guavaberry Golf & Country Club
Designed by Gary Player, the 18-hole Guavaberry Golf & Country Club is located just 30 minutes’ drive east of Santo Domingo’s international airport, in the resort town of Juan Dolio.

Juan Dolio Nightlife
Juan Dolio’s main street offers a good variety of beachfront bars and lounges for late night drinks, with plenty of dancing. Casino fun awaits at the Coral Costa Caribe Resort, while close to the center of town, you’ll find additional wine bars and lounges for cocktails with a more chilled out atmosphere.
