The experience

Guests of neighboring hotels will cross the resort for a spa treatment, but all you’ll have to do is step out the front door. Only 30 km away from Hurghada Airport, the resort is easy to access – but admittedly difficult to leave. Of course, you can’t blame guests for getting attached.

Jaz Makadi Star & Spa is conveniently close to Souk Makadi, a purpose-built haven of cosmopolitan entertainment. In all, it hosts more than 145 retail outlets, dealing in everything from fine jewelry to fine textiles made from world-famous Egyptian cotton. Restaurants, cafés, bars and discos are also in the complex.

Leisure facilities

Jaz Makadi Star & Spa boasts some of the most impressive purpose-built facilities in Madinat Makadi. But the best facilities can’t be built from the ground up. That’s why the pristine, private beach is far-and-away the finest fixture that Jaz Hotel Group has to offer.

You can get bask in a beach chair and order drinks from the beach bar. Or gear up for some high-seas action and dive into some water sports. Windsurfing, water skiing, sailing and parasailing are all popular here. You can also contact the dive centre to arrange lessons, certification and equipment hire. This is Hurghada after all, and it hosts some of the finest dive sites in the world.

The resort area accommodates a variety of sports, including tennis, beach volleyball, and basketball. Guests can also play billiards and table tennis. But there’s an extra facility at the resort that sets it apart from its neighbors and even attracts guests from sister properties around Makadi Bay. If you want to go gaga, and make your adrenaline pumping then, Makadi Water Wold Aqua park is only a short shuttle ride away at an extra charge.

Madinat Makadi

Madinat Makadi has been spectacularly developed, with a row of gleaming resorts and luxury hotels lining the sparkling Red Sea. But there’s a lot more going on here than plush digs and water sports. Case in point: Souk Makadi.

This shopping, dining and entertainment complex takes the traditional concept of the Egyptian souk – with its vendors, performers and fresh dining concepts – and gives it a fully modern makeover. It hosts a mercantile mash-up retail outlets intermixed with entertainment venues, restaurants and cafés, theatres and nightlife venues. 

After dinner, entertainment options range from live shows and buskers to trips to the cinema or evenings on the dance floor. This modern-day souk is a happening place to be any day of the week.

Diving

Makadi Bay is located south of Hurghada, along a stretch of the Red Sea that’s championed around the world for its prime scuba diving opportunities. Some of the dive sites in this area are easily amongst the best in the world, so it’s no surprise that divers flock here. ​
