What do these rates mean?

* STV Super Specials are STV's usual SUPER Discounted Special rates, GENUINELY and STRICTLY ONLY available for TRAVEL INDUSTRY Employees resident globally, and are classified as an Employee Benefit. (Available to Airline, Travel Agent, Tour Operator, ATC & Airport Handling Agent Employees)

* You must be a Travel Industry Employee and you must be registered with STV (Free) to be able to book our STV Super Special rates.

* Minimum one Travel Industry Employee per room. You are required to present your I.D. / proof of employment on check-in.

* There is no limit to the number of bookings per year you can book (unless stated otherwise)

* Friends and Family cannot book STV Super Special Rates. They can accompany you but must stay in the same room as you (some hotels permit an extra room for Friends & Family and if so this will be stated on the hotel page, but you must always be included in the booking and be staying at the hotel).

* PAYMENT & CANCELLATION: With STV Super Special rates you only need to pay a very small refundable deposit within 14 days of making your booking, or right away if travelling short notice, and the main balance of the booking is paid direct to the hotel, usually on check-in. It is FREE to cancel or amend dates for your booking, often right up to and including the day of check-in, making these rates great for standby travelers (see each hotels payment & cancellation terms). When you make a booking request with STV Super Special rates and it is confirmed, you do not need to go ahead with the booking and can cancel immediately without paying a deposit if you wish.

* Remember STV Super Special Rates are only available for Airline & Travel Industry Employees as an employee benefit and are the lowest rates you will ever find.

This means you choose your hotel and Super Special rate and submit your booking request through our website and you will receive a response back from the hotel as soon as possible. Day 1

Arrival at Kigali Airport Rwanda, Kigali city tour (depending on arrival time to Kigali)
You will be met on arrival at Kigali airport by our driver guide. You will be briefed about your holiday with details of the trip, activity schedule, accommodation, and any questions you may have will be addressed.

We will then conduct a tour of Kigali city as the start of what we think will be an amazing 6 days with us. While on the Kigali city tour we shall visit the genocide memorial in Kigali, a very moving testimony of Rwanda's past. After lunch, we head South of Rwanda to Butare the former capital city of Rwanda and educational hub that hosts Rwanda's leading intellectual institutions for higher learning.

We have a scheduled stopover en-route to visit the King's Palace in Nyanza, before we proceed to Nyungwe Forest National Park for our chimpanzee trekking expeditions. Nyungwe Forest is famed as the only travel destination in the world where one is able to see up to 13 primates species in a solitary location.

The primates species to be found here include Angolan colobus monkeys, white colobus monkeys, the chimpanzees, the blue monkeys and the L'hoest's monkeys. The populations and concentrations of the habituated primates stand at a staggering number of over 500 primates in some troops of chimps and monkeys.

We will then check into your lodge and track the golden monkeys (or do a canopy walk). You will hike through thick rain forests, expansive green tea plantations, and enjoy magnificent views of this stunning part of Africa. Overnight Gisakura Guest House BB.

Day 2

Trek chimpanzees in Nyungwe
After breakfast you report to Nyungwe park head-quarters for a pre chimp trek briefing. You will proceed to the forest in search of the chimpanzees. Later you will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon immerse yourself in either of the activity options below:

Join a tea plantation expedition to learn how tea is harvested and later visit a local tea factory to witness first-hand about the entire tea making process. Rwanda produces some of the best tea in the world. You will be able to taste some of the best freshly prepared tea

Day 3

Morning transfer to the shores of Lake Kivu Kibuye
Good things don't last forever. On this morning, we must depart Nyungwe Forest National Park for the equally exciting destinations ahead of us on this tour package of Rwanda.

We depart Nyungwe and head out to Kibuye, a beautiful and calming town situated right on the shores of Lake Kivu. Lake Kivu is regarded as one of Africa's great lakes and the 6th largest lake in Africa. Rwanda is currently prospecting for commercial natural gas in Lake Kivu. There are plenty of activities to enjoy on the lake including boat rides, dug-out canoe cruises and more.

Day 4

Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
This morning, as per our tour package schedule, we transfer to Volcanoes National Park via another beautiful lake side town of Gisenyi. We drive through beautiful lush green countryside and expansive tea and coffee plantations.

You will meet local Rwandans going about their daily lives. We anticipate to stop in Gisenyi for lunch, where you may spend a few hours relaxing on the tropical beach on the shores of Lake Kivu. In the afternoon we embark on a 1.5 hour transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Overnight Mountain Gorilla View Lodge FB basis.

Day 5

Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park Rwanda
After a very early breakfast your tour driver guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for the gorilla trek briefing. You will be assigned into groups of 8 and allocated a gorilla family to trek. Once the trek is completed and you have met the gorillas, you will return to the base of the mountains. Your tour guide will return you to the lodge for lunch.

Then, depending on the rigours of the gorilla trek and its toll on you, you may choose to relax at the lodge, or take a guided walk to Ruhengeri local market to purchase local artcrafts and souvenirs. Alternatively, we shall visit the spectacular twin Lakes, of Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo and enjoy the great views of the Virunga mountains and volcanoes chain. o/n Mountain Gorilla View Lodge FB basis.

Day 6

Transfer to Kigali and departure.
After breakfast, we embark on a leisurely 2.5hr transfer back to Kigali. If we did not have the chance to complete the Kigali city tour on the day of arrival, it will be conducted on this day including a visit to the genocide memorial at Gisozi. We will then transfer to the airport for your outbound departure flight.
