Facilities

Meeru offers an extensive range of modern facilities, services, and activities for the guests to enjoy during their Maldivian holiday on the Island. Apart from the scenic Speed Boat Transfers to and from the Velana International Airport to Meeru, the island offers an array of Land and Water Sports and 2 Fresh Water Swimming Pools on the beach: the Dhoni Bar Pool with a Children’s Wading Pool and the Pavilion Bar Pool – the infinity pool for adults, age 18 years and older. There is also a TV Room, a Library, a fully equipped fitness centre and two Games Rooms: Kakuni Bar with Table Tennis, Billiards, Snooker, Foosball Table, Darts, Mahjong Table and Board Games and another Games Room at the Uthuru Bar with Billiards, Snooker, Foosball Table, Darts and Board Games.

Shopping on the Resort includes, Gift Shops with Internet Cafés featuring a complete selection of Swimwear, Sportswear, Batik, Meeru Logo wear, Books, Music CD’s, Jewelry, Artwork, Crafts, Sundries, Snacks, Magazines, Cigarettes, and more. For guests who are looking to surprise their loved one with jewelry,  ‘Fine Jewels’ offers a complete selection of Gemstones and Jewelry at reasonable prices. The Euro-Divers SCUBA Center also features a dive shop. To keep Meeru’s younger guests entertained, the island has a Children’s playground, two Kid’s Clubs located near the Dhoni Bar pool, with separate facilities: Komas Kid’s Club with toys, games and fun for Children ages (3-12) and a Teens Club for 13-17 teen guests. The island also has a Museum and a Blue Whale skeleton popular with guests.

Things To Do

Meeru offers a myriad of things to do in the Maldives: activities, sports, and excursions, in the sea, on land and even in the air. Discover the pristine underwater world and colorful marine life, perfect your golf swing, sweat it out at the tennis court, rent a bicycle, or simply swim or kayak around the turquoise lagoon. Meeru’s variety of activities and sports are sure to keep you entertained.

Snorkeling
Meeru Resort & Spa Maldives Snorkeling Trail at the northern tip of the island. Meeru offers some of the best snorkeling in the Maldives, letting you swim with beautiful tropical fish just a few steps from the beach. Easily seen floating buoys mark the trail which you follow from the beach to the snorkeling site and back to the beach. An Island Map is conveniently located near the North Reception and at other places around the Island.

“Free” Snorkeling Boat Excursion to the House Reef
​This guided trip is scheduled at 10:00 and 14:30 and departs from Reception. Snorkeling equipment is not included (you can buy from the Gift Shop or rent from the Euro Divers Dive Center). This Excursion is for swimmers only. Non-swimmers are not allowed. Minimum age is 12. A child under 16 must be accompanied by a parent.

Scuba Diving
Allow yourself to glide through the deep blue waters of the Indian Ocean discovering the beauty of the aquatic world! We offer an interesting variety of courses from novice to expert. We are confident that at least one of these will fulfill your dreams! The Euro-Divers Dive Team welcomes all guests who not only want to enjoy the luxury of the beautiful dive sites around North Male’ Atoll, but are also looking for something special.

The Manta Trust Marine Biology Center
The Manta Trust is a well known, UK based, independent non-profit organization, whose mission is to advance conservation of manta rays and their habitat through science, research, raising awareness, and creating influence by providing education. Guests can take part in workshops and trips run by Meeru’s resident Marine Biologist. Our Team is here to share our passion for and knowledge of the marine environment with you and hope that your understanding will help conserve the natural beauty of the coral reefs.

Water Sports Center
In addition to Snorkeling and Diving, there are a variety of other water sports for Meeru guests to enjoy. Some include windsurfing, catamaran, kayaking and glass bottom boat, (motorized sports). Equipment can be rented and lessons can be booked at the Water Sports Center. Water Sports services are subject to availability and weather conditions. Damage, loss, etc, to the equipment will be charged to the guest at repair or replacement value. No one may use any water sports equipment without prior approval from the Water Sports Center staff.

Sports Facilities
Meeru provides a variety of sports facilities including lighted tennis courts, golf course (driving range, putting green and 9 hole pitch & putt), bicycle rental, badminton court, fitness center, beach volleyball, table tennis, billiards, darts, football field, Petanque, 2 Fresh Water Swimming Pool on the beach and a children’s wading pool. Perfect your swing with golf in Maldives. Located in the center of the island, next to the Golf Driving Range and Putting Green, you can play 9 holes over 480 yards on this 2000 sqm course (21,000 sq. ft.).

Excursions
Meeru offers a large variety of excursions in the Maldives. Select from short trips, half day trips and full day trips to suit your requirements, over and under water, on land and in the air, culture and cruises Meeru has it all. Book your Excursions through the iPad station at the Main and North Receptions or make use of our in-house Wi-Fi portal.

Meeru features various, dynamic, informative, romantic, cultural and colorful nightly entertainment programs. Scheduled over different venues you can enjoy a variety of programs including Maldives Culture & History Presentations, Marine Preservation Slide Shows, Bodu Beru Cultural Dance Performances, DJ Disco, Diver’s Video, Karaoke, Movie Night, Live Band, and much more!
