STV Super Specials
What do these rates mean?

* STV Super Specials are STV's usual SUPER Discounted Special rates, GENUINELY and STRICTLY ONLY available for TRAVEL INDUSTRY Employees resident globally, and are classified as an Employee Benefit. (Available to Airline, Travel Agent, Tour Operator, ATC & Airport Handling Agent Employees)

* You must be a Travel Industry Employee and you must be registered with STV (Free) to be able to book our STV Super Special rates.

* Minimum one Travel Industry Employee per room. You are required to present your I.D. / proof of employment on check-in.

* There is no limit to the number of bookings per year you can book (unless stated otherwise)

* Friends and Family cannot book STV Super Special Rates. They can accompany you but must stay in the same room as you (some hotels permit an extra room for Friends & Family and if so this will be stated on the hotel page, but you must always be included in the booking and be staying at the hotel).

* PAYMENT & CANCELLATION: With STV Super Special rates you only need to pay a very small refundable deposit within 14 days of making your booking, or right away if travelling short notice, and the main balance of the booking is paid direct to the hotel, usually on check-in. It is FREE to cancel or amend dates for your booking, often right up to and including the day of check-in, making these rates great for standby travelers (see each hotels payment & cancellation terms). When you make a booking request with STV Super Special rates and it is confirmed, you do not need to go ahead with the booking and can cancel immediately without paying a deposit if you wish.

* Remember STV Super Special Rates are only available for Airline & Travel Industry Employees as an employee benefit and are the lowest rates you will ever find.

MORE INFORMATION

* True Airline & Travel Industry Employee rates are known as ON REQUEST. This means you choose your hotel and Super Special rate and submit your booking request through our website and you will receive a response back from the hotel as soon as possible. Because the rate is so highly discounted, the hotel 1st needs to check if they have enough spare rooms to agree to let you pay these exclusive Travel Industry Employee rates. The hotels will often reply to you the same day but be prepared to wait up to 24-48 hours ~ It's worth it!

* BEWARE of other Interline/Agency companies telling you they offer Genuine Airline & Travel Industry Employee rates with 'immediate confirmation'! This is simply not true, and you are being misled. Hotels need to manually check their availability for Genuine Travel Industry employee rates and this can take 1-2 days. This is why they are known as ON REQUEST rates.

* BEWARE. If other companies tell you your Friends and Family can use the same rates as you unaccompanied, you know they are not genuine Travel Industry Rates! No hotels allow Friends & Families to book genuine Airline & Travel Agency Employee rates unaccompanied, so they are simply selling you rates that are also available to the general public through other channels.

STV have different rates available to Friends and Family to enjoy unaccompanied, they are called STV Direct rates. Because we source such rates in bulk and are the only truly global client and leading company selling holidays to Airline and Travel Agency Employees and their Friends and Family (we have served travel industry employees resident in over 200 countries ~ almost every single country on the planet), we always have the lowest STV Direct rates available anywhere. See STV Direct for these great deals for you and your Family.

If you’re the kind of traveler who likes to truly take in a nation’s history, landscape, and culture, our Splendours of Bhutan tour is right for you!

Day One

Your adventure in Bhutan begins before you even step off the plane! You’ll start by flying into Paro airport over the breathtaking Himalayas, allowing you to see these giants from above. From your seat on the plane, you’ll get a sweeping view of the world’s tallest mountain range, as well as some of the Paro area’s most famous sights. See if you can spot the Paro Dzong overlooking the Paro Chu river as you fly over!

Our representatives will meet you at the airport to take you to Thimpu, the modern capital of Bhutan. We’ll start your sightseeing adventures with a trip to Taschico Dzong, the headquarters of Bhutan’s king and the Je Khenpo, the spiritual leader of Bhutan. Afterwards, relax or explore Thimpu—the evening is yours to enjoy.

Day Two

We’ll start our morning with a visit to the National Memorial Chorten Stupa, designed by Bhutan’s third King, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, known as "the father of modern Bhutan." This monument was built to celebrate world peace and prosperity. Unfortunately, the king did not live to see its completion; today it also serves as a memorial to the beloved king.

Next up is a tour of Thimpu’s Folk Heritage Museum to see Bhutan’s traditions in action. This museum provides deep insight into Bhutanese history and culture, particularly their rural lifestyle. See original artifacts and learn how the Bhutanese people live their lives.

We’ll also see the National Library, which houses a collection of ancient Bhutanese manuscripts, and the Arts and Crafts School, where you can see live demonstrations of traditional thangkha paintings. We’ll end our day with a visit to the Takin Sanctuary, where Bhutan’s national animal is protected for all to see and enjoy.

Day Three

After breakfast in Thimpu, we’ll depart for Punakha via Dochu La Pass. This beautiful mountain pass is home to 108 stupas. On a clear day, you’ll also be able to view one of the highest peaks in all of the Himalayas soaring over Thimpu. Once we arrive in Punakha, we’ll visit the famous Chimi Lhakhang Monastery, where it is said that couples can come to be blessed with a child. In the evening, you’re free to explore the town of Punakha, which was the capital of Bhutan until 1955.

Day Four

No trip to Punakha would be complete with a visit to the Punakha Dzong, which will be our first stop on your fourth day. This structure was built in 1637 by Shabdrung, Bhutan’s spiritual and governmental ruler at the time.

The Dzong is a great starting place to understand the history of this fascinating town, which still serves as the winter residence of Bhutan’s Buddhist monks. The first king of modern Bhutan was also crowned in Punakha in 1907.

After lunch, we will continue our journey with a trip to Paro. On the way, we’ll drive through Dochu La Pass with a stop at Semtokha Dzong, a quaint structure built by Ngawang Namgyal, who unified Bhutan.

Day Five

On the fifth day of your adventure in Bhutan, we’ll take a 20 minute drive to Drukgyel Dzong, where you can get an unbelievable view of the ruined Dzong set against the backdrop of Jomohari Mountain. Like all mountains in Bhutan, Jomohari is sacred. Its peak, which rises to an incredible 7314 meters, is said to be the home of the Goddess Jhomo.

Afterward, we’ll drive to Rumthangka to begin the challenging hike to Taktsang Monastery, one of the holiest temples in Bhutan. It’s believed that the Buddhist hero Guru Rinpoche flew here on the Tigress’s back to meditate. On our return hike, we’ll visit Kyichu Temple, which was built in the 7th century by the Tibetan king Songtsen Gompo. Take your time to browse the markets here for souvenirs before we return to Paro, where you’ll enjoy a free evening.

Day Six

Our journey ends on day six, when we’ll drop you off at Paro Airport after breakfast. We hope you’ll visit this beautiful kingdom again soon!
