What do these rates mean?

* STV Super Specials are STV's usual SUPER Discounted Special rates, GENUINELY and STRICTLY ONLY available for TRAVEL INDUSTRY Employees resident globally, and are classified as an Employee Benefit. (Available to Airline, Travel Agent, Tour Operator, ATC & Airport Handling Agent Employees)

* You must be a Travel Industry Employee and you must be registered with STV (Free) to be able to book our STV Super Special rates.

* Minimum one Travel Industry Employee per room. You are required to present your I.D. / proof of employment on check-in.

* There is no limit to the number of bookings per year you can book (unless stated otherwise)

* Friends and Family cannot book STV Super Special Rates. They can accompany you but must stay in the same room as you (some hotels permit an extra room for Friends & Family and if so this will be stated on the hotel page, but you must always be included in the booking and be staying at the hotel).

* PAYMENT & CANCELLATION: With STV Super Special rates you only need to pay a very small refundable deposit within 14 days of making your booking, or right away if travelling short notice, and the main balance of the booking is paid direct to the hotel, usually on check-in. It is FREE to cancel or amend dates for your booking, often right up to and including the day of check-in, making these rates great for standby travelers (see each hotels payment & cancellation terms). When you make a booking request with STV Super Special rates and it is confirmed, you do not need to go ahead with the booking and can cancel immediately without paying a deposit if you wish.

* Remember STV Super Special Rates are only available for Airline & Travel Industry Employees as an employee benefit and are the lowest rates you will ever find.

* True Airline & Travel Industry Employee rates are known as ON REQUEST. This means you choose your hotel and Super Special rate and submit your booking request through our website and you will receive a response back from the hotel as soon as possible. Because the rate is so highly discounted, the hotel 1st needs to check if they have enough spare rooms to agree to let you pay these exclusive Travel Industry Employee rates. The hotels will often reply to you the same day but be prepared to wait up to 24-48 hours ~ It's worth it!

* BEWARE of other Interline/Agency companies telling you they offer Genuine Airline & Travel Industry Employee rates with 'immediate confirmation'! This is simply not true, and you are being misled. Hotels need to manually check their availability for Genuine Travel Industry employee rates and this can take 1-2 days. This is why they are known as ON REQUEST rates.

Our 65-acre coconut plantation straddles a breathtaking bay with a quarter-mile-long beach and views of the Grenadines.

Next door, there are 600+ acres of government-owned tropical Caribbean forest to explore. Then there's the rest of Bequia and St. Vincent & the Grenadines, where you'll find unspoiled reefs, islets, beaches, waterfalls, and tropical birds and flowers galore. There is even an active volcano to fathom!

Eco-Chic Boutique Hotel

The uniquely Caribbean character of the place, of Sugar Reef, of Bequia, and of St. Vincent & the Grenadines, is exotic, a true feat in this day and age. Sugar Reef Bequia maintains the Caribbean tradition of living in sumptuous luxury, open to the views and breezes, as well as lizards and the occasional bat.

While the estate's 18th century well and period British Caribbean antiques recall the early European colonists, the Beach House's design inspiration is the '50s and '60s, when European jet-setters (including James Bond creator Ian Fleming) rediscovered the Caribbean.

The buildings

Sugar Reef Bequia boasts a beach cafe, several lounging areas, and eight distinctive guest quarters divided between two original buildings.

The Beach House contains the great hall, with the Sugar Reef Cafe and a lounge area, and a guest wing with three rooms that share a private, beachfront garden. Outside, Adirondack chairs and chaise lounges dot a grassy area along the beach.

French House sits on the hillside and was built on the foundations of an 18th century French plantation house, located up a private drive from the beach and with commanding panoramic views of Crescent Bay and the Grenadines. It has five guest rooms, an enormous wrap-around veranda, a great room, and a courtyard with a saline plunge pool. The great room has a selection of books, puzzles, and games.

All accommodations contain an eclectic mix of antique, vintage and contemporary Caribbean furniture. Their net-draped four-poster beds have sumptuous all cotton percale linens.

Things to do

For some guests, just enjoying the view of the Grenadines and the estate's rustic splendour is sufficient. For those who seek more action and adventure, there is plenty at the hotel, on Bequia, and elsewhere in the Grenadines.

The bay by the hotel is protected by a reef and the water is calm and swimmable. There is good drift snorkelling at the next bay. The guest equipment room at the Beach House has a kayak, bikes, bocce, badminton, and snorkelling equipment for use by all hotel guests.

There are excellent running and walking tracks on the estate, and along the road at our end of Bequia, where it is exceptionally peaceful and unspoiled. There is also a half-day “ramble” through the forest to Bequia Head. We recommend you hire a guide for long off-road hikes

We can arrange in-room massages, manicures and pedicures, and hair care by experienced local massage therapists and aestheticians.

Sugar Reef Cafe

Sugar Reef Café, our bar and restaurant, serves light, healthy, locally-sourced food daily for lunch and dinner. We use lots of healthful coconut from our coconut plantation. For example, we use coconut milk in place of dairy and more stable coconut oil in place of vegetable oil for frying. Honey and many fruits also come from our estate. In addition, we work directly with Bequia and St. Vincent farmers and fishermen to serve fish, meat, fruits and vegetables at their freshest.
