Introducing the new Trans Maldivian Airways Livery 

Appearance is everything and aircraft are no exception to the rule. Trans Maldivian Airways flights boast some of the world’s most stunning views, but we’re now also making the splash with prettying up the Maldivian skies with a new livery. With Maldivian Air Taxi and Transmaldivian becoming a joint venture a year ago, we’ve started to re-brand Trans Maldivian Airways and designed a new paint scheme for our seaplane fleet.

Services

Trans Maldivian Airways services include resort transfers, photo flights, private charter, excursions and medical evacuation flights.

Photo flights: The standard photo flight package starts and finishes at the airport and includes a 15-minute flyover. It is a very popular charter service and comes at a reasonable price.

Resort transfers: Transfer of guests to and from contracted resorts on scheduled flights.

Private charter: This is mainly for VIP guests or those who require dedicated flights to and from any destination of preference. This is catered for based on the requirement. These charters also include Top VIP charters on our VIP configured aircraft to provide ultimate luxury.

Excursions: Full day and half day excursions to uninhabited islands or sandbanks are the best way to enjoy a picnic with your team, family or partner.

MEDEVAC flight: Medical Evacuation flights provided upon requests for medical emergencies. 

The Twin Otter Fleet

As ubiquitous as yellow cabs are in New York, no one leaves the Maldives without noticing the seaplane taxis. Albeit impractical to flag down, they are the safest and fastest mode of transportation in this island nation.

The De Havilland Twin Otter is a highly manoeuvrable, versatile aircraft, and this high winger, unpressurised, twin-engine turbine powered aircraft is ideally suited to operate in all conditions and climates. The versatility of this aircraft makes it perform very well on wheels, skis or on floats. The latter, along with the useful Short Take-Off and Landing performance, makes it the ideal aircraft for the 1190-island archipelago of the Maldives.

With a fleet of more than 40 Havilland Twin Otters, Trans Maldivian Airways operates the largest seaplane operation in the world.

Flight safety

Trans Maldivian Airways is fully compliant with the Civil Aviation Authority rules and regulations in the Maldives and is the holder of the following approvals:

• Maldivian Air Operator Certificate Holder (AOC) – ref – AOC. No. 005
• Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) – ref – MV.MG.003
• Maldives Civil Aviation Regulations – MCAR 145 – ref – MV.145.025

These approvals allow TMA to operate and carry out all operations and engineering maintenance activities for the DHC-6 aircraft.

Rigorous Quality and Safety audits are conducted by the Quality Department at regular intervals. This ensures that each Department in Engineering and Operations is in full compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures. This adds to the safety and quality of TMA aircraft in day-to-day operations and makes it more reliable and safe to fly.
