STV Super Specials
What do these rates mean?

* STV Super Specials are STV's usual SUPER Discounted Special rates, GENUINELY and STRICTLY ONLY available for TRAVEL INDUSTRY Employees resident globally, and are classified as an Employee Benefit. (Available to Airline, Travel Agent, Tour Operator, ATC & Airport Handling Agent Employees)

* You must be a Travel Industry Employee and you must be registered with STV (Free) to be able to book our STV Super Special rates.

* Minimum one Travel Industry Employee per room. You are required to present your I.D. / proof of employment on check-in.

* There is no limit to the number of bookings per year you can book (unless stated otherwise)

* Friends and Family cannot book STV Super Special Rates. They can accompany you but must stay in the same room as you (some hotels permit an extra room for Friends & Family and if so this will be stated on the hotel page, but you must always be included in the booking and be staying at the hotel).

* PAYMENT & CANCELLATION: With STV Super Special rates you only need to pay a very small refundable deposit within 14 days of making your booking, or right away if travelling short notice, and the main balance of the booking is paid direct to the hotel, usually on check-in. It is FREE to cancel or amend dates for your booking, often right up to and including the day of check-in, making these rates great for standby travelers (see each hotels payment & cancellation terms). When you make a booking request with STV Super Special rates and it is confirmed, you do not need to go ahead with the booking and can cancel immediately without paying a deposit if you wish.

* Remember STV Super Special Rates are only available for Airline & Travel Industry Employees as an employee benefit and are the lowest rates you will ever find.

MORE INFORMATION

* True Airline & Travel Industry Employee rates are known as ON REQUEST. This means you choose your hotel and Super Special rate and submit your booking request through our website and you will receive a response back from the hotel as soon as possible. Because the rate is so highly discounted, the hotel 1st needs to check if they have enough spare rooms to agree to let you pay these exclusive Travel Industry Employee rates. The hotels will often reply to you the same day but be prepared to wait up to 24-48 hours ~ It's worth it!

* BEWARE of other Interline/Agency companies telling you they offer Genuine Airline & Travel Industry Employee rates with 'immediate confirmation'! This is simply not true, and you are being misled. Hotels need to manually check their availability for Genuine Travel Industry employee rates and this can take 1-2 days. This is why they are known as ON REQUEST rates.

* BEWARE. If other companies tell you your Friends and Family can use the same rates as you unaccompanied, you know they are not genuine Travel Industry Rates! No hotels allow Friends & Families to book genuine Airline & Travel Agency Employee rates unaccompanied, so they are simply selling you rates that are also available to the general public through other channels.

STV have different rates available to Friends and Family to enjoy unaccompanied, they are called STV Direct rates. Because we source such rates in bulk and are the only truly global client and leading company selling holidays to Airline and Travel Agency Employees and their Friends and Family (we have served travel industry employees resident in over 200 countries ~ almost every single country on the planet), we always have the lowest STV Direct rates available anywhere. See STV Direct for these great deals for you and your Family.

Day One

Your adventure in Bhutan begins even before you get off the plane. You’ll start your journey by flying into Paro Airport over the majestic Himalayas. Make sure to take a look out the window before the plane descends, because this vantage point will provide you with unbelievable views of the world’s tallest mountains.

One of our ground representatives will be at the airport to meet you. You’ll journey by road to the modern capital of Bhutan, Thimphu. On the way, you’ll get a glimpse of daily life in Bhutan, including traditional Bhutanese farms and typical Bhutanese homes. Once you arrive at your hotel in Thimpu, the evening is yours. Explore your hotel’s neighborhood, enjoy some ultra-spicy Bhutanese cuisine, or simply relax by the pool—the choice is yours.

Day Two

Day two is all about Thimpu, which is often called “the most unusual capital in the world.” This city only began developing in 1961; cars didn’t make their arrival on Thimpu’s streets until the mid-1960’s! Today the city is fast developing into a modern, metropolitan capital, but traditions are never far off in Bhutan. Thimpu is also the home of Bhutan’s royal family.

After breakfast, we’ll tour the National Memorial Chorten, an impressive monument built under the orders of Bhutan’s third King, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, known as "the father of modern Bhutan." This monument was built to celebrate world peace and prosperity. Unfortunately, King Jigme Dorji Wanghchuk did not live to see its completion; today it also serves as a memorial to the beloved king.

We’ll also visit the Folk and Textile Heritage Museum to experience Bhutan’s living traditions, and Trashichho Dzong, the beautiful medieval fortress and monastery which houses the King’s throne room, as well as most of the government’s offices. We’ll take a tour through Changakha Lhakhang, a 15th century Buddhist monastery that sits on a stunning ridge known as the Spur. Later, we’ll stop at the Takin Sanctuary, where you can get an up close look at the takin, Bhutan’s national animal. In the evening, we’ll take a trip to see the impressive Lord Buddha statue all lit up at desk before returning to the hotel for a relaxing evening.

The Bhutanese pride themselves on a sustainable approach to tourism in line with the philosophy of Gross National Happiness. There is a strict policy to ensure the Kingdom does not get subjected to mass tourism.
It is a legal requirement that Regular tourist visitors must pay a government minimum rate of USD $200 per per person day during January, February, June, July, August and December, and USD $250 per day during March, April, May, September, October, and November...however, this fee is all inclusive of accommodation, food, transport and an official guide throughout the stay.

The very special Staff Travel Voyage travel industry staff rate is an exclusive 50% discount for Travel Agent and Tour Operator staff (USD $100/125 per day) and 20% discount for Airline Staff and their companions (USD $140/175). Airline companion rate also applies to companions of travel agent and tour operators). All children 5-12 years pay the Travel Agent 50% reduced rate. Children under 5 are free (pay only for visa entry $40)

Travel Agents and Tour Operators pay the 50% discounted rate shown at the time of booking. I.D. will be required upon confirmation of booking in order for your entry visa to be issued prior to arrival.
Airline Staff and companions & companions of travel agents/tour operators must pay the full rate shown at the time of booking and will receive a 20% cash back refund on arrival Bhutan (This is because it is a legal requirement that non travel agents/tour operators pay full price in order for their visa to be issued to allow legal entry into Bhutan).

Day Three

On your third day, we’ll depart for the Valley of Paro, where you’ll check in to your new hotel. From there, we’ll visit the National Museum to view Bhutan’s most spectacular collection of paintings, bronze sculptures, textiles, and jewelry. This museum also houses a gallery of stamps, which Bhutan is known for.

We’ll visit Rinpung Dzong, otherwise known as the Fortress of the Heap of Jewels. This fortress is an imposing structure typical of the Dzong architecture of the 17th century. From the fortress, we’ll hike to the cantilever bridge, one of the finest specimens of Bhutanese defensive bridges in the country. After lunch, we’ll take a scenic drive to the valley of Drukgyel Dzong, where you can get an unbelievable view of the peak of Jomohari Mountain. This mountain, which forms the border with Tibet, is revered as a powerful goddess, and standing at this vantage point, you’ll understand why!

In the evening, we’ll make a stop at our historical farmhouse in Tshongdue before returning to the hotel for the evening.

Day Four

This concludes your introduction to Bhutan! After three days bursting with adventure and culture, we’ll take you on one more journey to the airport to conclude your trip.
